The challenge
Disconnected channels and constrained innovation capacity
Regional Australia Bank ran member, broker, and staff journeys on disconnected systems, which produced inconsistent experiences and duplicated work between channels. Manual processing slowed time-to-decision and added operational cost.
Strategically, the bank wanted to lead on Open Banking, but the existing stack made adopting CDR data for origination a project the team couldn't realistically schedule.
The approach
Unified, multi-product origination on a Phoenix core
Cloudcase was deployed as a unified origination platform spanning direct member journeys, the broker portal, and staff interfaces. Home loans, personal loans, and credit cards were configured from blueprint accelerators with RAB-specific tailoring, sharing one set of policies and one workflow across channels.
Deep integration to Data Action (Phoenix) handled real-time core synchronisation. Open Banking integration enabled pre-population of income, expenses, assets, and liabilities from verified data, making CDR-originated lending operationally practical for the first time.
“Finding the right partner matters. Cloudcase has domain expertise in banking that made a real difference to our transformation.”
The outcome
First Australian bank to originate using Open Banking data
Three products were live across all channels within seven months. Regional Australia Bank became the first Australian lender to originate loans using CDR / Open Banking data, moving the platform from compliance overhead to a competitive position.
Automated policy enforcement and audit trails improved compliance confidence, and an internal configuration capability laid the foundation for ongoing self-sufficiency.
